Hi Ash Class

Wow, time flies! We’ve done a whole half of the summer term at home. I have really missed sharing the learning with you all together, but I have so enjoyed sharing the uniqueness of this situation with you and seeing how you’re adapting and changing to it.

For maths this week we will continue to look at telling the time. Please keep updating your calendar daily so you keep recapping the months and days. On Friday I asked you to make a clock, if you haven’t you can make one now, or you could use a toy clock. Please ask your grown up to give you five “o’clock” times. Can you show each one on your clock? Can you do the same with half past times? Keep practising – but it is important that you are physically doing it on a clock and seeing what happens to both the big and little hands. Can you describe how they are changing?

If you would like to practise online, try here  Clock and get your grown up to set the clock, and you read it. See if you can set the clock and they read it.

For English, I’d like you to listen to this story and follow my instructions. You’re listening for rhyming pairs. Can you write them down? Can you say the different ways that a sound is made? Once Upon a Time

Plus, I have made a short video reminding you about letter formation and upstrokes. You can watch it hereHandwriting

Finally, I said last week that we would be thinking about animals in our local area. Please could you keep a diary this week of any animals you see while you’re out and about. You could draw the animals, write them down, or make a poster. Some of the animals I have seen have included a fox, a deer and lots of cats! If you like you could extend it to include birds, insects or fish. Look out for smuses!
See you soon, enjoy the sunshine coming back this week.
Love

Mrs Wiggs xx

PS. Make sure you are doing a little bit of reading EVERY DAY too. X
